CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed two flood control projects along the Peñaranda River.
Implemented by Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office, the infrastructures have a total length of 237.6 lineal meters.
District Engineer Elipidio Trinidad said they are located in barangay Rio Chico, General Tinio and barangay San Roque, San Leonardo.
These projects are expected to reduce the threat of flooding in low -lying areas, especially during the rainy season. It also prevents the river from overflowing.
“We hope that with the completion of these flood mitigation structures, residents will feel Trinidad said.
The P39.94 million projects were funded under the General Appropriations Act 2022. (CLJD-PIA 3)
