TARLAC CITY — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed two farm-to-market roads (FMR) in barangay Bilad, Camiling and barangay Sinait, Tarlac City.
Implemented by Tarlac 1st District Engineering Office, they were funded by the 2021 General Appropriations Act under the DPWH and Department of Agriculture convergence program.
“The projects covered concrete paving of the 825-meter section rural road in Sitio Guisang in barangay Bilad and the 498-meter section of barangay Sinait FMR,” District Engineer Neil Farala said.
“Providing market access to farmers is among the top priorities of our office. These infrastructures are expected to help improve the mobility of people, products, and services particularly in the province’s agricultural communities,” he added.
Dionicio De Vera, a local farmer, thanked DPWH for implementing the FMR project and shared that it helped improving their lives since their farms are now connected to Camiling’s main roads thus increasing local trade.
Moreover, Carlos Taala of barangay Sinait is grateful that the road to their village has been paved and said it is a great help to the residents in doing daily household tasks. (CLJD-PIA 3)
