PALAYAN CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) built a multipurpose facility at Buklod Palad National High School (BPNHS) in Palayan City.
It can now be used as a venue for school activities such as sports events, workshops and other recreational activities that will help students to be physically and socially active now that face-to-face class has resumed.
DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad said the project will not only complement the existing school facilities but also promote a more active and healthier lifestyle for students and teachers.
Jessica Marie Miranda, a teacher at BPNHS, expressed gratitude for the completion of the multipurpose facility.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami dahil meron na kaming gym ngayon na mas malaki kumpara before, napaka laki pong maitutulong nito hindi lang po sa aming mga guro lalung-lalo na po sa mga estudyante po namin kasi hindi lang naman po kami nagtuturo inside our classroom. Yung learning naman po, hindi lang po yan sa apat na corners ng classroom, syempre it’s important for them to have different activities din po where they can also learn,” she said.
The P4.9-million infrastructure was implemented under DPWH’s Basic Infrastructure Program with funds sourced from the 2022 General Appropriations Act.
