TARLAC CITY (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the two-story Santiago Barangay Hall in Gerona, Tarlac.
This P6.86-million project now serves as a hub for delivering essential social services to the community.
DPWH Tarlac 1st District Engineer Neil Farala emphasized that the 109.91-square meter facility, funded under the 2024 national budget, is designed to accommodate a variety of community programs and activities.
“This project primarily benefits the communities within our jurisdiction. We recognize the need to improve barangay infrastructure to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of government services,” Farala said.
Barangay Kagawad Reynaldo Daguio shared that the spacious new hall has enabled faster service delivery.
“Ang barangay hall namin noon ay medyo luma-luma na at maliit. Malaking pinagbago ng barangay hall namin, maraming nagsasabing bisita namin na ito ang pinakamalaking barangay hall dito sa western na sinasakupan ng Gerona (Our barangay hall before was a bit old and small. Our barangay hall has changed a lot, and many of our visitors say that this is the largest barangay hall here in the western area covered by Gerona),” Daguio said.
The facility includes a kitchen, lobby, toilets, storage room, waiting area, conference room, balcony, and office rooms, providing the community with a multipurpose space. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
