ANGELES CITY – The Department of Tourism (DOT) in Region I has aggressively promoted its tourism areas, inviting Pampanga mediamen to experience one of its "finest gems" — the Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos City.
Disclosing this yesterday, DOT-3 Regional Director Ronnie Tiotuico said his counterpart in North Luzon, Martin Valera, had coordiated with them to give a two-day media fam trip to members of the Pampanga Press Club (PPC). It will b held from August 1-2.
The National Park in Barangay Lucap covers a land area of 1,884 hectares with 123 islands. However, only three (3) islands have been developed for tourists namely: Governor, Quezon, and Children’s Island.
The PPC members will meet Valera and Alaminos City Mayor Hernani Braganza upon their arrival in the at the Lucap Wharf on August 1.
The DOT-1 will billet the PPC newsmen at the Governor’s Island which is ideal for family use. It has 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, comfort room/bath and kitchen. Linens, water (4 drums), generator lighting, ceiling fans, dining and cooking utensils/equipments are provided for.
It will be a fun-filled, activity-laden tour for the PPC group. Among them are the kayaking clinic, snorkeling (to see gaint clams), island hopping, fish feeding at BFR, trip to Virgin and Century Caves, bird watching at mangrove area and trip to Shell Island.
