DOLE highlights sustained safety compliance in NE solar project milestone

GAPAN CITY (PIA) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) highlighted the importance of sustaining occupational safety and health (OSH) compliance as Power China Construction Company marked five million safe man-hours without lost time accident for its 1.05-gigawatt-peak solar power plant project in Barangay Macabaklay, Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.

The milestone reflects the project’s adherence to Philippine OSH standards through coordination with DOLE and OSH Center.

DOLE Central Luzon joined the celebration, represented by DOLE Nueva Ecija Officer-in-Charge Ethell Galvan and the labor standards team.

Galvan commended Power China Construction Company’s proactive safety programs and stressed continued compliance, vigilance, and shared responsibility for zero accidents.

Meanwhile, the company credited strong leadership, disciplined practices, and collective efforts by management, employees, and contractors.

It also reaffirmed commitment to safety systems, capacity building, worker welfare, and zero accidents as the project advances.

The project’s health, safety, and environment manager presented strategies, training, and preventive measures during the program.

This was followed by awards for 15 Outstanding Safety Teams and 20 Safety Star Awardees, then a safety pledge and signing ceremony reinforcing their guiding principle: “Safety First. Zero Accident. Everyone Goes Home Safe.”
