BALANGA CITY — The provincial veterinary office (PVO) began vaccinating dogs and cats in Samal, Bataan on August 23 as protection against rabies.
In Barangay Sta. Lucia, pet owners trooped to the barangay hall bringing with them dogs and cats for vaccination. Others waited in their respective sitios where PVO workers directly administered anti-rabies vaccine shots.
Members of the barangay council and workers headed by punong barangay Hector Forbes gave full support to the PVO team led by Louie Tripon.
Tripon said the mass vaccination on dogs and cats was part of activities of the “Bisitang Bayan” program of Gov. Enrique Garcia 3rd. “Araw-araw magsasagawa kami ng vaccination sa buong bayan ng Samal.”
Through the “Bisitang Bayn,” services of the provincial government are brought directly to the 11 towns and one city in Bataan for a month on scheduled dates.
Tripon called on dog and cat owners of Samal to avail themselves of the free vaccination program right in their area.
