CABANATUAN CITY – Lest they be accused of violating quarantine rules, members of a huge group ofdog owners here had to go through the ordeal of being homebodies – with their beloved pets.
“We really needed an ambience conducive to the health of our pets where we can altogether release stress, safely,” said Redenter Fajardo, president of the morethan 1,000-strong Cabanatuan Dog Society.
Fajardo, who joined the opening of the SM City Cabanatuan’s Paw Park, at the mall’s 4th level on Friday, said both pets and owners had to deal with stress amid lockdowns as the country battles the coronavirus disease.
“We didn’t want to either get infected or spread the virus so everybody must stay home,” Fajardo said.
The Paw Park is the first dog agility park in the north, according to SM regional manager Ian Ezekiel Balao.
“We develop this area for pet and their owners to enjoy. This is free and absolutely safe for everyone guided by park rules and regulations. We know that our pets also want to do outdoor activities after a long period of quarantine and this is best and safest place not only forwalks but also to train because of its facilities” said Balao
SM City Cabanatuan Paw Park features board jump, seesaw, a flame, hurdle jump, pause table, dog walk, weaves pole and other amenities for more fun and exciting activity area for humans and their well-loved pets.
The Paw Park, he said, is the mall’s offer to the need for a designated venue for much needed doggy outdoor exercise and monitored socialization.
Balao stressed though that safety protocols being implemented by the inter-agency task force are enforced in the place.
Nueva Ecija 3rd District board member EJ Joson lauded the project, saying it further promotes responsible pet ownership as the country faces the new normal.
SM City Cabanatuan has also opened its doors to local small and medium enterprise in Nueva Ecija currently featured in their Green Hub where the best succulents, indoor plants, and gardening essentials are offered to shoppers.
