CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – For 45 year-old Estrelita Manlupac, president of Rural Health Unit (RHU) IV, it is important to look clean and good in front of many people.

“They will be confident in seeking help from us as health officials,” says Manlupac who attended the seminar on personality development on Sept. 8 at the City Hall here.

She led a group of 110 barangay health officials and volunteers, the biggest in this city.

Manlutac is just one of hundreds of barangay health workers who attended the free seminar organized by the City Tourism Office and the Women and Gender committee in celebration of the Women’s Week.

City Tourism Officer Ching Pangilinan said the seminar aims to empower women and to boost their self confidence, learn “how to carry themselves” and improve their interpersonal skills like how to deal with people.

In her lecture, Pangilinan also said what she described as the broader aspects of what ‘personality’ means.

“It’s more than make up in the end. A good personality is all it takes to be presentable to other people,” she said.

Pangilinan added that personality development goes beyond the physical aspect. “It’s about “human experiences, values, and outlook in life.”

Other local personalities were also invited to talk during the seminar.

JR Guevarra, a known make up artist and freelance designer in Pampanga, taught participants on “how-to” in using cosmetics.

Meanwhile, Pangilinan said that part of the Women’s Week celebration include family workshops and blood donation.
