CLARK FREEPORT — National Task Force deputy chief implementer and testing czar Vince Dizon, on Saturday, visited SM City Clark to inspect its cinemas as additional vaccination venues for Mabalacat City.

The inspection was done during the initial implementation of the online registration of Mabalacat City in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) which is set to launch on June 28.

According to Dizon, the national government prioritizes highly populated cities in the National Capital Region Plus bubble and other urbanized cities including Mabalacat where the risk of Covid-19 transmission and surge are high.

Dizon furthered that the country is also expecting more than 12 million Covid-19 vaccines in July and Mabalacat City is one of the cities to receive sufficient supply of vaccines. Dizon added that the distribution of vaccines will continue as the goal is to vaccinate up to 58 million by the end of 2021 and achieve herd immunity.

Dizon commended Mayor Cris Garbo and the local government for its organized implementation as the city intensifies its vaccination program which will also include thousands of Clark employees living in Mabalacat.

Mabalacat City utilizes SM City Clark cinemas one to six which can inoculate 1,000 individuals per day as it hopes to hit its target of vaccinating 200,000 individuals by December 2021.

Meanwhile, Dizon also okayed walk-ins as the goal is to vaccinate everyone provided that the LGUs can ensure organized areas with minimum health standard protocols. Conforming with the directives, Mabalacat still recommends going through online registration to avoid overcrowding as it can result in superspreading events.

Together with Dizon were Covid-19 Response Initiative System (CRIS) head Dr. Jay Rivera, city health officer Dr. Clara Aquino, city information officer Jay Pelayo IV, SM Supermalls regional operations head Andrea Madlangbayan, as well as DICT regional director Reynaldo Sy.
