ANGELES CITY – Displaced residents of Sitio Balubad, Barangay Anunas here who were forced to flee last March from the 73-hectare land reclaimed by its owner, the Clarkhills Properties Corp., can now avail themselves of home lots in nearby Magalang town.

City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. said a 3-hectare area has been designated for 660 lots measuring 45 square meters each to accommodate the 535 families comprising 2,000 individuals identified in a recent mapping undertaken by the Angeles LGU.

Lazatin said this will finally enable them to own their lots.

“Katulad po ng nasabi ko noon, hindi ko po iiwanan ang mga naapektuhang residente ng Sitio Balubad,” said the mayo, adding that the city government is now preparing for the relocation of the affected families.

Councilor Pogs Suller, whom Lazatin has designated as focal person on the issued affecting the Balubad residents, said water and electricity connections will be immediately installed once the identified beneficiaries relocated in Magalang town, which is part of the 1st Congressional District of Pampanga.

Clarkhills Properties Corp. took over Sitio Balubad in March and installed checkpoints at every entry point to the property.

Lazatin had offered P70 million to buy two hectares from Clarkhills for the relocation of the Sitio Balubad residents but to no avail which prompted the Angeles LGU to find another location in Magalang town. Angeles CIO
