BALANGA City – The Diocese of Balanga has given the Archdiocese of Palo in Leyte P200,299.50 in cash as initial donation for victims of super Typhoon Yolanda, Bishop Ruperto C. Santos said Wednesday.

The bishop said the amount was coursed through the archdiocese’s social action commission. He said that Bataan will continue to help the Leyte archdiocese. “In this time of despair and destruction, the Diocese of Balanga is one with our people in Leyte. We are brothers and sisters to them,” Santos said.

Under the diocese are parishes in the towns of Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay, Pilar, Orion, Limay, Mariveles, Bagac and Morong and the City of Balanga.

“With God’s grace and under His guidance, we will rise and stand up. Let us all pray that God heals our lands and help us all,” the prelate said.

The Bataan diocese also donated last October nearly P0.6 million in cash to the Archdiocese of Cebu and the Dioceses of Talibon and Tagbilaran in Bohol after the two Visayan provinces were rocked by a strong earthquake
