STO. TOMAS, Pampanga — The Don Honorio Ventura State University-Sto. Tomas Campus (DHVSU-STC) community has lined up activities for the upcoming “Dekada,” its 10th founding anniversary slated on Oct. 23-24.
With the theme “A Decade of Excellence: Celebrating 10 Glorious Years of DHVSU- Sto. Tomas Campus,” the celebration starts with a eucharistic celebration to be presided by Rev. Fr. Ronnie D. Cao, parish priest of St. Matthias the Apostle Parish, followed by “Laro ng Lahi” and the “DSTC Got Talent” on the first day.
With the permission of the university president Dr. Enrique G. Baking, all activities for the second day will be at the DHVSU Main Campus, Bacolor, commencing with a color run, followed by street dance competition presenting the local festivals of Pampanga, Zumba by the DSTC Faculty and the search for Mr. and Ms. DSTC at 10 a.m. The Dekada Night will serve as the highlight of the celebration, to be participated in by the students, faculty, DHVSU administrative officials, past and current DSTC directors, alumni, Parent-Teacher Organization, local and provincial officials. It will be held at the Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Center, DHVSU Main Campus .
Currently, DHVSU-STC has 1,984 students population enrolled in four courses: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Hotel and Tourism Management, and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education
With the lot expansion donated by the Provincial Government of Pampanga, represented by Gov. Dennis G. Pineda to DHVSU, and in collaboration with 4th District Rep. Annayork Bondoc-Sagum and municipal officials of Sto. Tomas led by Mayor Johnny A. Sambo, the campus will be able to add to its curriculum allied medical courses, criminology, and public administration in the coming years for the benefit of Thomasian constituents, as well as those of adjacent municipalities and cities.
