CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Department of Education (DepEd) launched the Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) to ensure the seamless opening of classes in Central Luzon on August 29.
OBE is an annual initiative of the department that engages agencies, organizations, and other stakeholders in preparation for the opening of the school year.
DepEd Regional Director May Eclar said this year’s theme “Bayanihan para sa Matatag na Paaralan” highlights the volunteers and stakeholders’ initiatives to strengthen resiliency of schools’ basic education.
“For this year’s OBE, we shall focus on ensuring that learners from public and private schools are properly enrolled and the problems, queries, and other concerns commonly encountered by the public at the start of the school year are promptly and properly addressed,” she said.
Eclar added that this also aims to guide schools in sustaining partnership engagement activities and ensure its alignment with the components of the department’s Matatag agenda.
With this, the director said that DepEd Region 3 has an OBE-Public Assistance Command Center (OBE-PACC) from August 14 to 26 to provide immediate virtual assistance to enrollees and their parents by answering their queries during the enrollment period.
“Traditionally, this set-up starts one week before the school opening and ends a week after,” Eclar furthered.
OBE-PACC may be reached thru hotline numbers (045) 598-8580 to 89 local 121; and email addresses region3@deped.gov.ph, pau.ro3@deped.gov.ph, and pac.ro3@deped.gov.ph.
