CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda thanked the City of Makati for extending financial assistance amounting to ₱1 million to Kapampangans affected by Typhoons Egay and Falcon, which struck the country in 2023.
During the second quarter meeting of the provincial disaster risk reduction and management council at the Kingsboropugh International Convention Center here on Friday, May 31, Pineda presented a certificate of appreciation to Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay, who attended the event with former president and now Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
“On behalf of the Kapampangans, maraming salamat po. Nakapagbibigay kami ng tulong sa ibang provinces hit by disasters, pero kapag kami naman po ang nalagay sa ganung sitwasyon, masarap po sa pakiramdam na nakakatanggap din kami ng tulong from other cities or provinces,” the governor said.
Binay, on her part, thanked the governor for the warm welcome and acknowledged the support Pampanga provided to other provinces affected by various disasters, such as Batangas, Cagayan, and Mindoro.
According to Angelina Blanco, chief of the PDRRMO, the donation will be used for the relief and recovery of the affected populations.
Aside from Makati City, Davao also donated ₱1 million and the Korean Community in Central Luzon turned over ₱500,000, which will be used for the provision of financial assistance to 55 households that suffered partial to total damages during the typhoons.
