CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda extended to April 15 his executive order directing the local police and barangay officials to strictly enforce the modified general community quarantine protocols in the wake of the surge in Covod-19 cases in Pampanga.
Going on live stream in his Facebook page Wednesday, Pineda said Executive Order No. 5 that took effect last March 20 and set to end April 5 has been extended to April 15.
The EO mandated the setting of checkpoints in barangays to be manned by the police and barangay officials, imposed a 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew and a ban on alcoholic drinks.
Non-Pampanga residents are required by the EO to present RT-PCR negative test results undertaken three days before entry to the province.
Pineda appealed to Capampangans working or residing in Metro Manila to refrain from making visits to their loved ones, especially the elderly, in Pampanga to prevent the spread of the virus.

The “house lockdown” or stay-at-home for those 17 years old and below and 60 years old, the pregnant and those with comorbidities is also strictly enforced.
In the same livestream, Pineda announced free testing for senior citizens showing symptoms of Covid-19, such as cough and fever, giving the assurance that the that the provincial government will foot their hospital bills. He announced a vaccine rollout for the elderly next week, or those who would like to be vaccinated.
In an earlier Facebook post, Pineda said he has met with chiefs of public and private hospitals in the province to consult with them on how to address the increasing number of Covid-19 patients. No announcements were made though as to the outcome of the meeting. With Pampanga PIO
