JAEN, Nueva Ecija – A village here has been placedunder lockdown after a three-day wake was held for a man whose test for the coronavirus disease turned positive on Friday.
According to the Nueva Ecija inter-agency task force, a lockdown was imposed on Barangay San Roque of this municipality after the result of swab testing on the 47-year-old man who died at the San Lorenzo Ruiz General Hospital in Malabon City last June 23 turned positive.
The man was brought to the hospital upon complainingof hardness of breathing and throat problems. The swab testing was conducted right after his death, report said.
The test result was relayed by the health center of Malabon City to the wife on June 26, after the body was buried at about 4 p.m.
The NE–IATF explained that the lockdown had to be implemented to contain the possible spread of the virus.
Gov. Aureluo Umali, NEIATF head, ordered disinfection and relief operation in the village.
