CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) led the groundbreaking ceremony of its new branch and office building inside the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center (DMGC), reinforcing its commitment to accessible and development-driven banking services in Central Luzon.

The new DBP building will house a branch lite unit, the Central Luzon Branch Banking Group, and eventually the San Fernando lending center.

It is also envisioned to become a one-stop shop for its clients including national government agencies, local government units, and those in the business sector including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

DBP Branch Banking Group Central Luzon Head Francis Thaddeus Rivera stressed the importance of establishing a physical presence at the heart of the region’s administrative hub.

“Even without our presence here, DBP has long been at the forefront of Central Luzon’s development. But it is imperative for us to locate at the seat of the regional government to better serve our core clients. This expansion is a concrete step toward a revitalized DBP,” he said.

Meanwhile, DBP President and CEO Michael De Jesus highlighted that the Pampanga community’s trust continues to fuel the state bank’s growth in the region, noting that the new facility will improve convenience for clients and allow all DBP services to be centralized in one location.

“This new building is not just about physical expansion. It’s a testament to our unwavering commitment to our developmental mandate, improving customer service, and supporting projects in infrastructure, tourism, health, and MSMEs,” he said.

DBP Chairperson Philip Lo, on the other hand, reflected on the bank’s journey from vision to realization.

“Back in 2023, we were already discussing the need for new branches to reach more communities. Today, we’re seeing that vision come to life. This facility will make development financing more accessible to our kababayans in San Fernando and beyond,” he pressed.

Representing the host branch, Ryanna Bulatao from the San Fernando office expressed gratitude to DBP’s partners and stakeholders, calling the event “a signal of growth, potential, and heightened presence for DBP in the region.”

Meanwhile, DMGC Management Committee Chairperson and Philippine Information Agency Regional Head William Beltran welcomed DBP as the 52nd agency to establish an office within the DMGC, while reiterating the center’s purpose as a one-stop hub for accessible and efficient government services.

“This is more than just welcoming a new office. It is a step forward in our shared mission of transforming public service in Central Luzon,” Beltran said.

DBP currently operates three branches in Pampanga—Clark, Guagua, and San Fernando—along with a dedicated lending center. (CLJD/MJSC, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
