BALANGA CITY – Children from the San Jose Day Care Center here on Friday wore vegetable decors in simple observance of Nutrition Month with the theme “Gutom at Malnutrisyon Sama-Sama Nating Wakasan.”
The kids from three to three and a half years old have necklaces or headgears made of either sitaw, okra or peanuts. The others have their clothes adorned with malunggay, pechay and also peanuts and sitaw.
Other set of children aged four to four and a half years sported paper boxes marked with names of vegetables.
Some danced to the prodding of day care teacher Lorna Quintos and aide Beth Moster.
Over eager mothers as usual were around joining in the singing and going after some children who seemed to be unmindful of what was going on.
The celebration coincided with the Barangay Week on its fifth year initiated by City Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III.
