BALANGA CITY — SM City Bataan here set aside Sunday, Sept. 10, as a day for dancing grannies in celebration of Grandparents’ Day.
The mall’s Event Center at its ground floor was filled with grandmothers with some mothers (still non-lolas) joining the Zumba while being watched by many onlookers from the center’s area as well as from the second floor’s corridors.
The dancing grannies, many in colorful costumes, followed every beat with gusto, the leats sign of fatigue absent in their graceful movements.
Records showed some of them are already 68 years old but their inviting smiles, their laughter, and the way they swung and swayed belied their age.
SM City Bataan held Grandparents’ Day from September 1 to 10 as special tribute to the Lolo and Lola and to rekindle the cherished bonds between generations.
