CITY OF MALOLOS — To save on electricity consumption due to the surge in the price of petroleum products amid the unrest between Israel-US and Iran, the city government is implementing Daily Earth Hour.

Mayor Atty. Christian D. Natividad said that during lunch time, they turn off the lights and air conditioning system in all offices at the city hall.

They will only leave lights-on in some parts of the city hall except for areas that need to have the air conditioning still on.

He noted that the city government needs to conserve its resources because of the impact of the current unrest in the Middle East.

So, like in the observance of Earth Hour, he said they will turn off lights and air conditioners for one hour every day until the petroleum products returns to normal price.

Meanwhile, Earth Hour for this year is set on March 28, an annual celebration encouraging individuals, businesses, and communities to turn off their lights for one hour to raise public awareness of the effects of climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental sustainability.
