CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Department of Agriculture (DA) turned over a coffee processing facility in Hermosa, Bataan.
New Hermosa Farmers Association in barangay Mabiga benefitted from the P949,757-worth project which was funded under the High Value Crops Development Program.
DA Region III Field Operations Chief Elma Mananes said the facility aims to help the members of the association raise the level of competency in making high-quality coffee products from their locally-harvested beans.
“Part of our role in DA is to assist our farmers, like you, in providing additional income through farming as well as improve the quality of your livelihood,” Mananes told the recipients.
In behalf of the group, New Hermosa Farmers Association Chairman Godofredo Felipe thanked DA for the grant.
“We pledge that with the help of the municipal government, we will ensure the sustainability of the facility and our livelihood is guaranteed,” he said. (CLJD/CASB-PIA 3)
