CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The initial batch of the socialized housing projects of the city government and the Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) for the city employees in Barangay Panipuan is now 80 to 90 percent complete.
This was affirmed by the city local housing and settlement division (LHSD) on Feb. 21, following its site inspection with the SHFC and the officers and members of the Townhomes San Fernando Homeowners Association, Inc.
Of the 937 total housing units, 500 included in the initial batch list were inspected.
The construction of the houses started in the last quarter of 2021. The LHSD is targeting by end of April or early May this year to turn over the units to the first 500 beneficiaries while the second phase of construction is in the process of completion.
Delivering on his promise to city employees, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago initiated the project in 2020 by entering into a memorandum of understanding with SHFC to provide flexible, affordable, inclusive, and responsive shelter to the state workers.
