Officials from the World Health Organization and Department of Health discuss with Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago the medical approach of the local government unit (LGU) against coronavirus disease 2019 particularly its contact tracing activities.
Santiago, together with Dr. Renely P. Tungol, officer-in-charge of the City Health Office and Incident Commander of the Incident Management Team, championed the City’s best practices aimed to combat COVID-19 including its efforts on testing, contact tracing, isolation and treatment (dubbed as the ‘Kahon ng Buhay.’)
In light of this, the WHO, represented by Eric Lazarte and Nico Selibio, Technical Coordinators, and Rossana Rosell of the Regional Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (RESU) expressed their support to San Fernando’s strategies and offered their expertise to re-orient the City’s teams for a “fast and quality contact tracing.”
