CLARK FREEPORT – Starting Jan. 1, 2021, passengers flying out of the Clark International Airport here will no longer pay their terminal fee over the counter as this would be included in the cost of their airline ticket.
“We want to begin 2021 a hassle-free new year for our passengers departing from Clark,” said Bi Yong Chungunco, chief executive officer of Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD), the operator of the Clark airport.
With passenger service charges or terminal fees for both domestic and international passengers included in ticket costs, travelers will no longer queue to pay for the fees at the airline counters but only to secure a boarding pass.
A total of 17 airlines have signed the memorandum of agreement with LIPAD for the arrangement.
During the transition period, passengers are advised to proceed to their respective airline check–in counters to secure a printed boarding pass.
Those who have their terminal fees integrated may proceed directly to final security check after check–in.
For passengers who bought their tickets before the effectivity date, there are still payment counters inside the terminal.
Among those exempted from paying terminal fees are infants below two years old for both domestic and international flights, and overseas Filipino workers for international flights.
