CLARK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – Iconic Pampanga lanterns lighting up the streets and adorning the airport inside out. A walk-thru giant Christmas tree fittingly welcoming holiday travelers at the check-in area.
That CRK sparkles for the season is an understatement. For there is more, much deeper, than the glam and glitter all around this recently Prix Versailles awardee as one of the world’s most beautiful airport.
“An airport is a venue for holiday reconnections when loved ones coming from far away are reunited with their families and friends. May CRK continue to provide cheer and merriment to those whose long-awaited reunions are finally fulfilled.”
Thus, articulated Luzon International Premiere Airport Development president-CEO Noel Manankil of the essence of the season in-celebration at Tuesday’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony here.
Manankil was joined by Pampanga Vice-Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Clark Development Corp. president-CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, Clark International Airport Corp. president-CEO Arrey Perez, Bases Conversion and Development Authority vice-president Erwin Kenneth Peralta, and Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark district collector Atty. Dino Austria.
The Voce de Angeli choir provided music that warmed the atmosphere of merriment and gift-giving.
With the lighting ceremony came CRK unboxing gift packages of treats such as “Wish Upon CRK” and “The 12 Days of Christmas: Spin and Win” whereby passengers get to win prizes prepared by CRK partners and concessionaires.
On the giant Christmas tree, passengers and loved ones may Wish Upon CRK, by writing their wishes on the tags available at the nearby information desk, and hanging them on the tree.
The 12 Days of Christmas: Spin and Win, which takes place from Dec. 13 to 24, is open to those flying to and from CRK and who accomplish survey forms available at the Check-in Hall, where the game wheel is set up. Prizes include roundtrip airline tickets, hotel and restaurant vouchers, appliances and many more.
CRK festivities for the season extend outside the airport. At the lawn fronting the bus station, an outdoor Christmas Food Market is ready for those craving for the season’s delights like bibingka, puto bumbong, and tsoklateng batirol. Pampango delicacies, international fare, and many other pasalubongs are also offered. The Christmas Market is open to everyone, even to non-passengers who wish to visit CRK to enjoy the festivities.
