CLARK FREEPORT – In partnership with the PNP Aviation Security Group, the Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) Corp. conducted a high-stakes response to a simulated aircraft hijacking during the Clark International Airport’s 1st Security Full-Scale Exercise held on March 18.
The comprehensive exercise covered a strictly controlled drill designed to ensure that emergency response teams are fully prepared for critical situations with the primary aim of preserving life and protecting human rights.
“This exercise has clearly demonstrated the vital importance of preparedness, discipline, and unified action in safeguarding our aviation sector. It also forms part of our broader preparations for the Philippines’ hosting of the ASEAN Summit and related engagements here in Clark,” said Office of Transportation Security Administrator Undersecretary Gilberto DC Cruz, noting the dedication and strong coordination among airport authorities, law enforcement, emergency responders, and aviation security teams.

He also commended exercise participants in their real-life portrayal of their individual roles that contributed to the success of the activity. Usec. Cruz called the tactical assault “one of the most precise SOU (special operation unit) execution I have ever witnessed”.
LIPAD president and CEO Noel Manankil expressed his gratitude for the dedication and support of all participating agencies in the exercise. “Ensuring the safety of CRK and its facilities is part of our commitment to our passengers. Through these exercises, we strengthen our capabilities, identify opportunities for improvement, and maintain our readiness to respond to any crisis.”
The simulation involved a closely coordinated effort among airport security personnel, local law enforcement, and emergency medical services. All regular flight operations and terminal services proceeded as scheduled and travelers did not experience any disruptions to their flight schedules. Press release
