ANGELES CITY — Gawang Angeleño products will be showcased at the Clark International Airport’s exhibit for local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said this is a kick-off event of the city for the MSMEs week celebration, coinciding with the CRK Employees Consumers Cooperative 3rd founding anniversary.
Twelve local merchants including miniature ships from Adto Ship; metal plant stands by BG Metals; water bonsais of the JJBMS Blooming Greens; plant baskets from Cutud Weavers; recycled bags by Ellen’s Handbags; kitchen organizers from Flores Handicrafts; bayong bags of Tamayuq; handpainted home decors by Tabak’s Artworks; fashion accessories of K’s creations; wooden kitchenweare from WoodCraft by Madison; Capiz home decorations from Chilona Fabrica; and hair accessories of Stitched by Raj are being featured in the exhibit held at the CIAC Corporate Office Complex until Aug. 3.
According to Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, who is supervising the city’s One Town One Product store with Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office, this is a great avenue for the local MSMEs in reaching a larger audience to introduce their Gawang Angeleño products, especially that the airport is a gateway to the world.
This was also echoed by CIAC Vice President for Operations IC Calaguas, also Mayor Lazatin’s Chief Adviser.
“By establishing “Pasal-One, Angeleño Pa!” during the launching of OTOP store in Sept. 2019, it is the aim of the city government to promote the world-class products of the local MSMEs,” she said.
“Nais lamang din po ng CRK na maging bukas na oportunidad para matulungan ang ating mga small businesses,” Calaguas added.
For her part, ACEDIPO head Irish Bonus-Llego thanked the CRK Employees Consumers Cooperative led by Chairman Augusto Sanchez.
Mayor Lazatin has been strengthening programs uplifting the MSMEs in the city.
In fact, a two-storey building was allotted to be the venue for Gawang Angeleño products, free of charge, located in Barangay Sto. Rosario.
Two kiosks in the entrances of City Hall were also established, bringing Gawang Angeleño products closer to the people.
The OTOP store is also engaging in online marketplace Shopee and even hosting live selling events, sales of which are being wholly given to the MSMEs.
