CABANATUAN CITY – The three residents of Pantabangan town confirmed to be Covid-19 positive were employed with a contractor of theMetropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System’sconcessionaire and not the company itself, the agency’s corporate office clarified.
The patients, a contractor/surveyor and locomotive operators, had their place of work as MWSS Quezon City.
In a statement, the MWSS said the contractor who was not identified has assured the agency that it updated his“place of work report and illnesses and diseases” withthe Department of Labor and Employment and Department of Health.
Upon verification, the MWSS said, it “found that the patients are not employees of the MWSS but employees of the contractor working for our concessionaire.”
The MWSS did not also name its concessionaire.
The MWSS assured it has prepared its workplace in the context of Covid-19 new normal, that their employees can be with families and transact with the public safely.
“The contractor has done contract tracing and has confirmed that the patients had no contact with any MWSS employee for the past 14 days, and has assured MWSS that it will update its “Place of Work Report of Illnesses and Diseases to DOLE and DOH,” the agency said.
