CITY OF SAN FERNANDO
Homeowners’ associations of subdivisions here have been enlisted by the city government in its mitigation efforts against the coronavirus disease.

Over the weekend, members of the CSFP Federation of Homeowners Associations organized task forces in their respective subdivisions with the assistance of the city health office.

“Ang layunin ng pagbuo natin ng mga task force on Covid-19 sa bawat subdivision ay upang ihanda sila sa posibilidad ng pagkakaroon ng kaso ng sakit sa kanilang nasasakupan kung ano ang mga tamang aksyon na kanilang gagawin,” explained Dr. Roselle Mallari, head of the CHO-led triage, testing, and contract tracing programs.

Mallari said five representatives will comprise each task force headed by a safety and health officer with an assistant safety and health officer and three members who will be provided with official identification cards by the city government.

While the primary role of the task forces is to assist in the intensified implementation of infection control policies within their subdivisions, it will still be the CHO that will be at the forefront of the program, especially in conducting disinfection activities and contact tracing.

Engr. Walter Ocampo, CSFPFEDHOA president, cited the significance of the task forces to the Covid-19 response of the city government.

“Ang FEDHOA ay binubuo ng mga 110 subdivisions kung saan nakatira ang libu-libong mga Fernandino. Sa pagbibigay ng empowerment ng siyudad sa mga subdivision para tumulong sa pagpuksa o pag-minimize ng epekto nito, ay napakalaking bagay sa amin,” he said.

Ocampo noted that before the creation of task forces, even as subdivisions complied with the protocols and minimum health standards set by the inter-agency task force basic policies and the city government, there was no unified guide for the subdivisions to follow.

“Sobrang wine-welcome natin ang programa ng siyudad dahil, kung dati, kanya-kanya ang pag-implementa ng mga polisiya, ngayon, may iisang aksyon na tayo at guided ang lahat ng subdivisions natin kung anu-ano pa ang maaari nilang gawin,” he said.

The task forces are expected to begin with their duties starting the last week of October with the city government conducting a weekly monitoring of their activities.

Throughout the imposition of different community quarantine levels, subdivisions, even the upscale ones, in the city have never been left out in city governments delivery of health and social services including disinfection, imposition and management of localized lockdowns, and distribution of rice packs and relief goods
