Covid-19 in Olongapo: 2 new cases up total to 7

OLONGAPO CITY – The city inter-agency task force on Covid-19 headed by Mayor Rolen Paulino, Jr., confirmed two new positive cases were added to the list of Covid-19 patients in the city.

The 6th patient is a 55yearold female from Olongapo City who was admitted last April 2 at the James L. Gordon Hospital due to difficulty of breathing and was listed as PUI.

Paulino said she is in stable condition in an isolation room of the said hospital.
The 7th patient is a 36year-old female also of this cityand a health worker in a hospital in the province of Bataan.

She is also in a stable condition in an isolation room in the said hospital.
Reports said that the patient went earlier to the Royal Choices Duty Free Shop inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

Immediately, the Olongapo City Health Office informed Dr. Solomon Jacalne of the SBMA Health and Welfare Department and contact tracing was undertaken.

The city health office requests residents who went to the said store last April 13 at about 11 in the morning to April 14 at 3 in the afternoon to submit themselves to the nearest Barangay Health Emergency Response Team for necessary declaration and monitoring protocols.

Meanwhile, the Manila Avenue where Royal Choices Duty Free Shop is located will be closed April 14 and 15 for thorough disinfection of both the street and the establishment.
