CABANATUAN CITY – A young sea-based worker from Quezon town who took medical test to resume work tested positive of the coronavirus disease and is now the 68th confirmed case for Nueva Ecija, the local inter-agency task force said Wednesday, June 24.
Report said the 21-year-old patient went to Metro Manila for a swab test as a requirement for reporting to work on June 17.
The municipal health office of Quezon, Nueva Ecija was promptly informed of the result thus contact racing has commenced, according to NE-IATF.
The seafarer is now under quarantine in a facility in Caloocan City.
Based on information gathered by the task force, the patient stayed in his hometown from March 21 up to June 17.
Earlier on Wednesday, the task force reported the recovery of three patients, including a seaman and two Quezon City-based workers.
NE-IATF head Gov. Aurelio Umali reiterated his call to the public to continue practicing health protocols such as social distancing, wearing facemasks, among others, as well as pray for safety and healing.
