CABANATUAN CITY – At least 17 municipalities and cities remained unscathed of confirmed coronavirus disease cases as of afternoon of Thursday, April 16, according to the province inter-agency task force.
NE-IATF spokesperson Fr. Arnel Abelardo said that of the five cities and 27 towns in Nueva Ecija, 15 were affected.
Among the affected municipalities and cities are Licab, Quezon, Cuyapo, Aliaga and Zaragoza with one each, (all in Nueva Ecija’s 1st congressional district); Rizal, 1, (2nd district); Gen. Mamerto Natividad, Laur, Santa Rosa, with one each: Cabanatuan, 15, (3rd district); San Isidro, 3; San Antonio, 2; Gapan City, 8; San Leonardo, 1; and Jaen, 1 (4th district), the NE-IATF data showed.
Meanwhile, Abelardo said the NE IATF has asked the Department of Health to look for approved testing kits:“So, we can continue testing all our patients under investigation.”
“We want to focus on all our PUIs, have them all tested para madaling matutukan,” Abelardo said as he reiterated call to “continue praying for their recovery and strength.”
In a briefing Thursday, NE–IATF head Gov. Aurelio Umali said the provincial government will shoulder expenses in setting up extension wards for PUIs as well as their food and medicines.
