CABANATUAN CITY – Confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease rose to 320 with a weekend surge of double digits among new cases here.
A report from the Nueva Ecija inter agency task force showed that 13 cases were registered on Sunday, while 18 were listed Friday.
Among the new cases were a 32-year-old policewoman and a 29-year-old policeman from Jaen town who are under strict home quarantine, according to NEIATF. They are reported as close contacts of a Covid-positive ranking police officer who is a resident of the municipality of Bongabon but has tour of duty in Jaen.
More frontliners were in the list of new Covid-19 cases in Nueva Ecija based on the report. Among them were a 38-year-old traffic aide in San Nicolas, Gapan City; a 38-year-old health care worker (HCW) of Sumacab Este here; a 48-year-old HCW of Barangay Piñahan, Gen. Mamerto Natividad; and a 30-year-old HCW from Barangay Maligaya, Gabaldon.
From the elderly sector, a 68-year-old woman from Barangay Mambangan, San Leonardo: a 68-year-old man from San Fabian, Sto. Domingo; and a 64-year-old male construction worker from Barangay Mabini Homesite this city were reported as among the new cases.
Of the 320 total, 156 are active, 150 have recovered, and 15 have died, the NEIATF reported.
The NEIATF, as well as local government units in the province, reiterate their appeal to the public to practice minimum health standards against Covid-19.
