CABANATUAN CITY – The number of active coronavirus disease cases in the log of Nueva Ecija rose to seven after four new infections were reported Monday.
Based on report from the Department of Health, the new reported cases include two seafarers, a Metro Manila-based worker, and a man who had travelhistory to Mandaue City, according to the Nueva Ecija inter agency task force.
These raised to 72 the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases recorded in Nueva Ecija of which 62 have fully recovered and three have died.
Reports said Patient 69, a 29-year-old resident of Cuyapo town, is a worker in Taguig and is currently quarantined at the isolation facility of a construction site in Manila.
One of the seafarers, Patient 70, is a 22-year-old resident of Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija who has yet to travel abroad, the report said. He has a history of travel to San Antonio town, also in this province, from March 15 to June 6 before staying from the rest of June 6 to 9 in his hometown. He later went to Caloocan City where he was subjected to swab test and is now quarantined there.
The second seafarer is Patient 71 who is a 34-year-old male from Quezon, Nueva Ecija and is under strict home quarantine, according to the NE–IATF.
Patient 72 is a 32-year-old man from the municipality of Rizal who arrived from Mandaue City on June 23. He submitted himself for a swab test due to persistent coughing and is now admitted in a hospital this city.
The NE–IATF renewed its appeal to the public to observe quarantine protocol, including staying at home unless for essential things, social distancing, wearing face masks, and use of disinfectant to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
