Covid-19 in NE: 2 OFWs, engineer new positive cases

CABANATUAN CITY — Three new confirmed infectionstwo overseas Filipino workers and an engineerraised to 64 the positive Covid-19 cases disease in Nueva Ecija, the province’s inter-agency task force reported Tuesday.

The two OFWs are a 28-year-old man of Talavera town who was repatriated from Bahrain and a 28-year-old seaman from San Leonardo who tested positive during a recent medical examination, according to the NEIATF.

The other patient is a 34-year-old engineer from Cabanatuan City who is working for a power company and has travelled to Pantabangan town, Quezon City, and Mexico, Pampanga.

The patients are now under quarantine in different facilities, reports said. 

Gov. Aurelio Umali, NEIATF head, reiterated his call to the public to stay home and observe health protocols even as the province has been placed under modified general community quarantine by the national IATF as approved by Pres. Duterte.

Of the 64 recorded positive, 50 have recovered and three have died.
