CABANATUAN CITY — A baby girl, aged 14 days, from Santa Rosa town became the 73rd and youngest positive case of the coronavirus disease in Nueva Ecija.
“It really breaks my heart,” Fr. Arnold Abelardo, spokesperson of NE interagency task force, said Tuesday as he reported the case. The baby girl was admitted on June 22 at Gonzales General Hospital, the NE–IATF recorded.
Gov. Aurelio Umali who heads the task force, said the baby had no travel history.
Abelardo said the baby’s mother tested negative in a rapid test but is scheduled to undergo swab test along with the father.
Meanwhile, the NE–IATF said Sitio 6 of Barangay San Alejandrino, Quezon town has been placed under lockdown after a 34-year-old seaman tested positive of Ccovid-19. He was Patient 71.
Also, at least seven people who got close to the body of a dead man from Malabon City that tested positive of Covid-19 in Barangay San Roque, Jaen were subjected to swab testing, reports said.
The deceased was given a three-day wake in the village which is now on a lockdown.
The NE–IATF and respective municipal governments provide relief assistance to residents of places under lockdown.
