OLONGAPO CITY – Eleven new cases of the coronavirus disease, including a 10-month-old baby boy, were registered late Friday here.
City inter-agency task force chair Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said this brought to 116 the total number of confirmed cases in the city, of which 65 are active.
Four of the new cases were the household contact of a patient from Las Piñas who visited prior to learning of his being positive of Covid-19. All residents of New Cabalan, they are a 55-year-old male, an 81–year–old female who is diabetic, a 22-year-old female, and a 5-year old boy who is asymptomatic. They all underwent RT-PCR test on August 18, with their results later coming out positive.
The 10–month–old boy is from Barangay Mabayuan who had close contact with his uncle who was earlier tested positive of Covid-19.
The other new cases are two males aged 38 and 23 both from Barangay Old Cabalan, a 23-year-old male from Barangay New Cabalan, a 68–year–old female from Barangay East Bajac-Bajac, a 34–year-old female from Barangay Kalalake, and a 69–year–old male from Barangay Barretto who is the husband of an earlier Covid-19 case.
Paulino also reported that nine patients have finished their strict quarantine in an isolation facility and are now listed as recovered.
