CABANATUAN CITY – Gov. Aurelio Umali disclosed on Monday the death of six persons under investigation (PUIs) and seven new Covid-19 positive cases in the province since the imposition of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
The new cases that include four doctors and a young male frontliner brought to 15 the confirmed Covid-19 cases in Nueva Ecija, according to Umali, an official of the province’s inter-agency task force.
At least two of the doctors had exposure to Covid-19 patients, according to the report.
By locality, Gapan City has the highest number of confirmed cases with 6; Cabanatuan City, 4; and one each in Gen. Mamerto Natividad, San Isidro, Licab, Laur, and San Antonio.
For the fatality, one each PUI in Guimba, San Antonio, Gen. Tinio, San Isidro, Gapan City, and Licab, according to the provincial chief executive.
Umali said he would raise to the NE-IATF suggestion of some netizens to place the province under total lockdown owing to continued increase in Covid-19 cases.
He reminded Novo Ecijanos that staying at home and observance pf social distancing are the best steps to contain the spread of coronavirus disease.
