BALANGA CITY — Gov. Albert Garcia on Friday reported that this province recorded Thursday 396 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease in Bataan, considered as the highest registered in a day since January 2021.
With the new data, the total number of cases of those who were tested positive of Covid–19 rose to 18,873 with active cases jumping to 3,829.
Deaths climbed to 670 with the addition of nine new casualties on Thursday. There were 29 fatalities from Monday to Wednesday this week alone.
Those who recovered totaled to 14,374 with 153 new recoveries.
The new confirmed cases were from Limay – 84, Dinalupihan – 62, Mariveles – 53, Balanga City – 48, Bagac – 28, Orion – 28, Abucay – 22, Morong – 20, Samal – 20, Pilar – 18, Hermosa – 8, and Orani – 5.
Among the new deaths were: 73-year-old female and 61-year old male from Balanga City; four males aged 78, 72, 79 and 29 from Dinalupihan; 59-year-old female from Hermosa; 56-year-old female from Limay; and 66-year-old female from Pilar.
The new recoveries were from Mariveles (51), Balanga City (23), Dinalupihan (17), Limay (16), Orion (16), Abucay (13), Bagac (7), Pilar (5), Hermosa (3), and Orani (2).
The governor also announced that 212,013 individuals have taken the first vaccine dose while 120,665 are fully-vaccinated with 43,404 given the single-dose Janssen.
