BALANGA CITY — For straight three days until Wednesday night, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in Bataan remained at 81, the Provincial Health Office reported Thursday.
Gov. Albert Garcia considered this as good news and expressed the hope that infections brought about by the deadly virus will continue to weaken. The same number of 15 recoveries and four deaths remained.
PHO chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan said that since the declaration on January 31 of the first patient under investigation, a total of 1,116 have undergone laboratory tests for the virus to date.
Of that number, 444 were found negative while 591 are awaiting result of the test.
“Manatili lamang po ang lahat sa kanilang mga tahanan at ibayong pag-iingat pa rin po upang hindi na dumami pa ang kaso sa ating lalawigan,” Buccahan and Garcia appealed.
Meanwhile, the governor thanked the Bataan Filipino–Chinese Chamber of Commerce through Raymond Co, the Philippine Institute of CivilEngineers and the Philippine Resins Industries for their donation to frontliners.
The chamber donated 10 boxes of personal protective equipment and 5,000 face masks, PICE handed out isolation gowns, while Philippine Resins gave face shields and face masks.
