BALANGA CITY — A 72-year–old man from this city became the 126th confirmed coronavirus disease patientin Bataan, the provincial health office reported Saturday.
PHO chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan said the old man was the lone patient found positive of the deadly virus based on laboratory tests released Friday night.
On Thursday and Friday, six cases per day were added to the list of confirmed Covid–19 cases that made the number to shoot to 125.
Number of deaths remained at six and those who have recovered at 53.
From 2,305 persons who have undertaken test for the virus, 1,637 were declared negative while 542 are waiting for results.
Per resolution of the national Inter-Agency Task Force, Bataan was categorized under modified enhanced community quarantine starting May 16 until May 31, withdrawing its first decision placing the province under general community quarantine.
Bataan officials had requested for the extension of the enhanced community quarantine to give way to mass testing.
