BALANGA CITY — Bataan listed 133 new confirmed cases, four new deaths and 46 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease on Friday, based on Saturday’s report of the provincial health office.
With the additional data, the total number of those who tested positive rose to 5,930 with 945 active cases, casualties to 171, and those who have recovered to 4,814.
The new fatalities were 32-year–old male from Pilar and females from this city aged 58, 68, and 82.
Balanga City recorded the most number of new infections with 25, followed by Orion – 20, Limay – 17, Mariveles – 17, Morong – 12, Abucay – 11, Dinalupihan – 11, Pilar – 8, Orani – 6, Samal – 4, and Hermosa – 2.
The new recoveries are 15 from Mariveles, 12 from Abucay, 11 from Balanga City, two each from Morong, Orion and Samal, and one each from Bagac and Limay.
PHO chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan said vaccination for the second dose has started for medical frontliners who earlier received the first jab.
She said that 14,009 medical and non-medical frontliners with senior citizens have so far been inoculated with the first dose.
Gov. Albert Garcia reminded that protection against Covid-19 is not yet completed for those who have just received the first dose. “Patuloy na sundin ang mga nakalatag na alituntuning pangkalusugan para sa kaligtasan ng sarili at ng inyong pamilya,” the governor said.
