BALANGA CITY — Bataan on Wednesday registered 10 new casualties and 152 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease, the highest in the daily lists in the province this year, the provincial health office reported Thursday.
With the addition of newly-tested positive cases and new casualties, the total number of confirmed cases rose to 6,278 with 1,020 active ones and total deaths to 197.
The number of those who recovered reached 5,061 after the listing of 60 new recoveries from the dreaded virus.
The new fatalities were: 72–year–old female from Orani; 77-year–old male and 51-year–old female from Abucay; 69-year–old male and 56-year–old female from Pilar; 83-year–old female from Mariveles; 64-year–old female from Bagac; 81-year– old female from Limay; 51-year–old male from Hermosa; and 75-year–old female from Balanga City.
Mariveles posted the most number of new infections with 36, followed by 33 from Balanga City, 18 from Morong, 16 from Pilar, 14 from Limay, nine from Bagac, seven from Orion, six each from Dinalupihan and Samal, three each from Abucay and Orani, and one from Hermosa.
New recoveries were 21 from Dinalupihan, 10 from Balanga City, eight from Hermosa, six from Morong, four from Mariveles, three each from Bagac, Orani and Orion, and two from Limay.
The PHO also reported that 14,320 medical and non-medical frontliners and senior citizens have so far been vaccinated with the first dose while the administration of the second jab goes on for medical frontliners earlier inoculated with Coronavac.
