BALANGA CITY — One more died while eight were added to the list of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in this province as per Wednesday night report of the provincial health office.
With the new cases, the number of those found positive of Covid–19 rose from 111 Tuesday to 119 Wednesday while the number of deaths climbed to six.
Gov. Albert Garcia said the new confirmed Covid cases are a 26-year–old male from Pilar, a 28-year–old male from Orani, a 34-year–old female and a 33-year–old male from Balanga, a 30-year–old female, a 50-year–old female and a 39-year–old male from Limay,and a 53-year–old man from Balanga City who died.
The 34-year–old and the 33-year–old from Balanga are nurses at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center while the 30-year–old from Limay is an employee of the same hospital. BGHMC was designated as an exclusive facility for Covid–19 patients.
A 35-year–old woman from Balanga who recoveredraised the number of recoveries to 43.
From 2,245 tested of Covid, 1,609, including 26 on Wednesday, were found negative of the virus, while 517 are waiting for the result.
The governor said with one more dead and the rise in confirmed cases as the enhanced community quarantine is about to end showed that Bataenos have to continue being careful as “flattening the curve” is not yet attained in the province.
He said that this is one of the reasons why they recommended to President Duterte and the national Inter-Agency Task Force that Bataan be still placed under ECQ until May 31, 2020 to have time to undertake mass testing.
