CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Zilch. No new case of the coronavirus disease registered in Angeles City on Wednesday.

The start of November has set a downtrend in new cases of Covid-19 in Pampanga, updates in the official social media page of the provincial information office indicated.

On All Saints’ Day, 20 new cases were recorded bringing the total number of active cases to 1,058. The number of recoveries to date stands at 44,311 and mortalities at 2,531.

The last three-digit case for the day was recorded Oct. 14 at 134.

A month back, on Oct. 3 specifically, 337 new cases were recorded, rounding off the active cases to 5,054.

According to the Department of Health, the decrease in Covid-19 cases brought the total bed occupancy of health facilities in Pampanga to 27.6 percent, one of the lowest in recent months. In direct numbers, this translates to 877 vacant beds out of the province’s 1,211 bed capacity.

In the City of San Fernando, only three new cases were reported on Nov. 1, and another three on Nov. 2. Active cases to date number 201. As recorded in the city information office Facebook page.

The daily tally has fallen considerably since Oct. 2 with 75 cases, and active record of 1,536.

The last time the city registered three digits in its daily cases was on Sept. 23 with 109, and the active cases at 1,870.

Coming to zero case on Nov. 3, the Angeles City information office official social media page reported two new cases for Nov. 1 and six for Nov. 2, with total active cases at 142.

In a separate press release, the ACIO declared that due to the “extensive vaccination drive of the city government led by Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr., the number of Covid-19 cases in the city has declined to an average of only 10 cases per day.”

Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center chief Dr. Froilan Canlas noted that the average figure is far from the double to triple-digit cases recorded per day when cases surged on Aug. 15, hitting the peak of about 90 average daily infections.

Canlas said that for two weeks now, the improvised tent for Covid-19 patients is empty: “Lahat ng pasyente nasa isolation rooms. Maluwag na maluwag kami. Pati mga health workers hindi toxic.”

“Definitely, Covid-19 vaccines helped. Mayor Lazatin’s chief adviser IC Calaguas has mobilized all city government units to take part in this extensive endeavor because the goal is to vaccinate as many as we can as fast as we can. In fact, at one point we vaccinated almost 10,000 individuals in one day,” he enthused.
