BALANGA CITY — Gov. Albert Garcia reported Friday that Bataan has attained 360 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease on Thursday that increased the total number of those who recovered to 17,762.
Leading in the number of new recoveries were Balanga City and Limay with 79 each, followed by Mariveles – 68, Bagac – 27, Abucay, Samal and Morong with 19 each, Dinalupihan – 17, Orani – 15, Pilar – 8, Orion – 6, and Hermosa – 4.
The number of active cases was down to 3,997 of the 22,563 who tested positive of Covid–19 after the province listed 293 new confirmed cases: Dinalupihan (74), Balanga City (67), Morong (51), Samal (17), Limay (16), Orani (13), Abucay (13), Bagac (10), Hermosa (10), Mariveles (10), Orion (7), and Pilar (5).
Mariveles that used to be the epicenter of Covid–19 in the province has been registering decreased active cases, the latest report at 464. Balanga City and Dinalupihan have more with 861 and 768, respectively.
Limay has 436, Morong – 350, Orion – 270, Orani – 194, Samal – 173, Hermosa – 172, Abucay – 146, Pilar – 102, and Bagac – 61.
Those who died from the virus reached 804 after registering 13 new casualties. A 7-year-old girl from Mariveles was among the newest fatalities.
The others were 68-year-old female from Abucay; 74-year-old male from Bagac; two females aged 44 and 74 from Hermosa; three males aged 85, 66, and 71 from Limay; 60-year-old female from Orani; 58-year-old male from Orion; 70-year-old male and 76-year-old female from Samal; and 46-year-old male from Pilar.
