ANGELES CITY — The court has issued a temporary environmental protection order (TEPO) on the trees along the stretch of the Fil-Am Friendship circumferential road here on Friday.
A group of environmentalists and volunteers together with the Save the Trees Coalition filed a complaint against the cutting of 259 trees along the Fil -Am Friendship Highway at the Regional Trial Court branch 59 on January 24.
The complaint cited Republic Act 3571, an act prohibiting the cutting, destroying or injuring of planted or growing trees, flowering plants and shrubs or plants of scenic value along public roads, in plazas, parks, school premises or in any other public pleasure ground is permitted save.
