DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — Police on Thursday reported the arrest of a couple and the confiscation of illegal drugs and firearm during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sapang Balas here Wednesday afternoon.
Lt. Col. Emelito M. Dela Cruz, Dinalupihan police chief, identified the suspects as Diosdado Romero, 54, and his live-in-partner Fatima Abella, both of the said barangay.
Seized from the couple were four sachets of shabu and a .38 paltik revolver with ammunitions.
In his report to Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco, Dela Cruz said the suspects were arrested after handing to a police-poseur-buyer one small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu.
Following body search as precautionary procedure resulted to the confiscation from Romero of another three pieces of small transparent heat-sealed containing shabu and a sling camouflage bag with the revolver loaded with four live ammunitions.
Confiscated from Abella was the P1,000 buy-bust money.
Members of the Dinalupihan municipal police station, provincial police drug enforcement unit, and 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency participated in the buy-bust operation.
Dela Cruz said the suspects face cases for violation of Sec. 5 & 11 of Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) and RA 10591 in relation to violation of Omnibus Election code (gun ban).
