Couple gunned down in own residence

    MARIVELES, Bataan – The president of a homeowners association and her live-in partner in sitio Paliparan, Barangay Lucanin, Mariveles town were gunned down by two unidentified men Thursday afternoon.

    Senior Supt. Manuel Gaerlan, Bataan police director, said couple Emily Bihasa, 45, president of the Paliparan Anak Maralita Neighborhood Association (PAMANA), and Wilfredo Jadulco, 46, suffered gunshot wounds on their heads and other parts of the body. They died on the spot.

    Their remains were brought to the morgue of Yambao Funeral Parlor in nearby Townsite, Mariveles.

    Neighbors said the two men pretended to buy some goods at the store of the couple at about 2:10 in the afternoon and suddenly fired at close range, first at Bihasa who was tending their sari-sari store.

    As Bihasa slumped on the floor of the store, suspects turned to Jadulco who was less than 10 meters away outside.  Diosdada Abugado, 66 and Andres Tongga, 60; both neighbors of the victims, said they saw the two men without masks and wore sunglasses took turns in firing successive shots.

    Another woman said she heard many shots but fearing for her life sought cover. Neighbors said the victims were good persons. “Mababait sila,” they said.

    Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered nine empty shells and five slugs from caliber .45 revolver for safe-keeping at the Bataan Crime Laboratory in Balanga City.

    From the crime scene, suspects walked and took a waiting motorcycle and sped away.

    Police are in the process of investigation to determine the identity of the gunmen and the motive for the killing.
